Who: Calling all Club Leaders (Soccer & Admin), Coaches and Interested Parties!
What: What will a post-COVID youth sports world look like? We’ve assembled leading soccer experts from across the nation to discuss the impact of COVID-19 and the future of our game.
When: May 18 & 19, 2020 (10AM-1PM)
Format: Each speaker will participate in a moderated discussion for 20-30 minutes, followed by 10 minute Q&A.
“Post-Pandemic: How Youth Soccer Might Change” | 10 AM
Kevin Payne has been involved with soccer at all levels for over 40 years, including GM roles in Major League Soccer. Currently, Payne serves as CEO of US Club Soccer.
“Club Leadership and Navigating the COVID-19 Crisis” | 11 AM
Christian Lavers is a key founder and the president of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), US Club Soccer -Strategic and Technical Consultant, and FC Wisconsin Technical Director.

Ruth has worked in youth and semi-professional sports, particularly soccer, for more than 30years. She was one of four national finalists for the 2018 Hudl Innovator of the Year in youth soccer award. Sheis an avid writer and workshop presenter for youth sports blogs and coaching education events, including national sports leadership events, conferences, and conventions.

Skye is a former All-American goalkeeper, professional player and collegiate coach. She holds her USSF “B” License and USSF National Goalkeeper License and is an active youth coach and soccer mom!

Tom Shields is the Global Director of Club Development and Coach Education for Beyond Pulse. He is also the Technical Director for STA (a former Girls US Soccer Development Academy, Boys ECNL and Players First member club in New Jersey) and serves as a National Staff Coach for US Club Soccer’s Boys Id2 program and Coach Educator for United Soccer Coaches.
“Mental Training for Youth Participants: Post COVID-19” | 12 PM
Dr. Custer has experience working with athletes across all sports, including youth, high school, collegiate, professional, and Olympic populations. She received specialized training in management of sports related concussion at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and has had the privilege of working with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins. I value the importance of utilizing an active, individualized treatment approach for the management of concussion, including collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. Dr. Custer is specially trained in the areas of general neuropsychology, polytrauma, spinal cord injury, chronic illness and pain management.
