The Minnesota National Premier League is a merit-based league; teams earn promotion into the league through performances at the Regional level of play. Top performing teams in the NPL earn advancement and promotion into the ECNL Regional League – Twin Cities, effective with the 2025-26 soccer year.
The Minnesota NPL provides a high level of play close to home with a proven pathway to US Club National events.
Club-centric and collaboration driven, the league is led by the League of Directors comprised of leaders of member clubs.
Programming includes college showcases and winter matches that are meaningful.
The Minnesota NPL aims to provide a practical, club-centric, annual schedule.
Overall schedule and approach will be decided by the League of Directors.
In general, teams play one meaningful season throughout the full soccer year.
The benefit to this structure is utmost flexibility for clubs, and appropriate training to match ratios which are in the best interest of player development.
