New Club Criteria
TCSL holds itself to the highest of standards and strives to help clubs create the best possible environment for their players. The following are criteria for new membership into TCSL:
- Number of teams submitted into the league. A minimum of eight (8) teams must be entered into both the Fall and Spring seasons (or NPL equivalent). A minimum of one (1) boys team and one (1) girls team must be represented.
- Must submit and field a 9U team in either gender.
- No more than 35% of registered players will have been registered to a different TCSL Member Club in the previous season.
- In certain cases, TCSL may solicit input from current members.
- Professional (paid) Director of Coaching (DOC) or similar role (must possess at minimum a USSF ‘C’ License)
- Professional (paid) administrative staff
- Technical plan

- Field permits or written agreement for fields (including dome space, in the winter months) – 7v7, 9v9, 11v11 fields
- 5-Year Growth Model
Application Checklist Items
Application checklist items, in addition to the above:
- Club Logo
- Proof of US Club Soccer Club Membership
- Confirmation that DOC (or similar role) has successfully completed US Club Soccer background check
- Additional signatories: 2 other individuals shall be listed on the application as references (most likely the Club Administrator and Board President)
Application Timing
All applications are due no later than three (3) calendar months in advance of the team submittal deadline as published in the TCSL calendar.
This will generally be early-May for Fall entry and early-November for Summer entry. While the applications window is open year-round, due to the unique considerations Winter season poses, clubs will not be admitted during this time frame.
